Alekhine
Born in 1892 to a wealthy russian family, Alexander Alekhine grew to be one of the world's greatest chess champions.
Alekhine won the All-Russian Amateur Tournament in 1909 at the age of 17. He went on to defeat Capablanca in 1927 for the world chess championionship title to become the fourth world chess champion. He later lost and regained the title to Max Euxe in 1935 and 1937. Alekhine remained chess champion of the world until his early and untimely death on March 14, 1946.
